DryBUDDY
LED Indicator Guide
| Green LED | Red LED | State | Meaning / Action |
|---|---|---|---|
| Blink 0.5s on / 3s off | OFF | Drying | Device is performing a dry cycle. Auto-shuts off after 20h. Typical cycle ~6h (varies by load). |
| Solid ON (4H after dry complete) | OFF | Dry Complete | Green LED remains on for 4h once drying is finished. Then both LEDs turn off. Remove your devices. |
| OFF | OFF | Idle (Deep Sleep) | Device is powered but inactive. Slide switch OFF to fully power down to save CR2032 battery life. |
| OFF | Solid ON | Regen Required | Desiccant beads are saturated. Reactivation needed (see below). |
| OFF | Blink 1s on / 1s off | Reactivation | Beads are regenerating in sleeve. Process takes 2.5h—allow to complete. |
| Solid ON | OFF | Regen Complete | Beads are refreshed and ready. Allow sleeve to cool before reinstalling. |
| Solid ON | Solid ON | Sensor Fault | • Power OFF, wait 10s, then power ON. • If not resolved, contact Redux Support at Support@redux.com |
Troubleshooting Guide
| Problem/Fault | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Device won't power on for drying | • Dead or missing battery | • Install fresh CR2032 coin cell battery (check polarity) |
| No LEDs light up | • Battery drained • Faulty power switch or LED circuit |
• Replace CR2032 battery • Power-cycle switch (OFF → ON) • If still dark, contact Support at Support@redux.com |
| Sensor fault, solid green & solid red light | • Device stuck in error state | • Power OFF, wait 10s, then power ON • If not resolved, contact Redux Support at Support@redux.com |
| USB-C power issues | • Cable or adapter incompatible or damaged | • Use only supplied USB-C cable and 5V ⎓ 500mA adapter • Avoid multi-voltage smart adapters; use fixed 5V adapter |
Reactivation Process
When DryBUDDY shows a solid red light, reactivation is needed:
Reactivation Using Sleeve
- Power Off
Slide the power switch to OFF. - Connect Power
Plug the supplied USB-C cable into the DryBUDDY USB-C port and a 5V ⎓ 500mA USB power adapter or USB outlet. - Insert Reactivation Sleeve
Slide the sleeve fully onto the DryBUDDY housing. The act of putting the sleeve on will start the reactivation process. - Initiate Reactivation
This is automatic once sleeve is placed on with USB-C connected. The red LED will blink (1s on / 1s off)—reactivation has begun. - Wait for Completion
Leave the sleeve powered for at least 2h 30min. When the red LED turns OFF and the green LED turns ON (solid), reactivation is complete. - Unplug Power and Remove Sleeve
Unplug power and allow the sleeve and beads to cool for 10min.
Important: Some USB power adapters that support multiple voltages (e.g., "fast chargers" or USB Power Delivery/PD) may not initiate reactivation. DryBUDDY does not communicate with smart adapters, so they may fail to supply power.
Frequently Asked Questions
What if I opened DryBUDDY before use?
If you opened DryBUDDY prior to use, you may need to perform a reactivation cycle before drying treatment. If the electronic rice beads are dark in color or there is a solid red light when you turn on your DryBUDDY, perform the reactivation steps listed above.
Where do I store DryBUDDY when not in use?
Store DryBUDDY in a sealed Mylar pouch in a dry location when not in use.
